Police warn of phone scam involving fake Changi Airport or Singapore Airlines contest
Published: 1:05 PM, December 12, 2014

SINGAPORE — Members of the public should be wary of phone calls purporting they have won free plane tickets to either Tokyo or Paris through a contest organised by Changi Airport or Singapore Airlines, the police warned today (Dec 12).

During such calls, the victims would be asked for their personal information, such as passport details, to “process the winnings”. Changi Airport Group (CAG) has clarified that such calls are not authentic, the police said.

CAG also advised the public to call its Customer Hotline at 6595 6868 if they require verification of any contests’ authenticity. Winners of authentic CAG contest are sent an official letter to acknowledge, on top of an email and telephone notification.
