10. Cheating involving E-Commerce cases increased by 1,149 cases (+225.3%), from 510 in 2013 to 1,659 in 2014. This is likely due to an increase in the number of Internet users who use online shopping facilities1. “Multiple Payment Online Purchase” scam increased by 635 cases (+236%) from 269 in 2013 to 904 in 2014. “Phony PayPal Email” scam increased by 113 cases (+1,256%) from 9 in 2013 to 122 in 2014.

11. “Internet Love” scam increased by 116 cases (+143.2%) from 81 in 2013 to 197 in 2014. Cyber Extortion cases continued to form the majority of the increase in both Attempted Extortion and Extortion cases.
