Police road block start 18:00 - 2:00 for a period of 60 days. The action for the national police on investigating drunk driving, once discovered, will be detention for six months. 12:00-14:00 & 19:00 -21:00 from today onwards using HD camera, designed to capture the front occupants without seat belts & driving using mobile phones. Please spread to the relatives and friends in order to avoid penalty.

Official Response from the Singapore Police Force: "... Police would like to advise members of public to refrain from spreading unsubstantiated information. For information on the penalties for road traffic violations such as drink-driving, you may wish to refer to Road Traffic Act: bit.ly/1BR023v.

Police would also like to advise all road users to adhere to traffic rules and regulations at all times. We would like to take this opportunity to call upon family and friends to play a greater role in helping to eradicate drink driving behaviour from our society. We should constantly remind our family members, loved ones, friends, and colleagues not to drive to drink and stop them from attempting to drive even if they appear sober after consuming alcohol. We should also refuse a lift from them and instead engage valet services or hail taxis for them so as to ensure that they get home safely. Thank you."
